Workplace Scripture

New International Version Translation

Bible

Below I have included a list of verses that I keep in my office -- things that remind me what's expected of a Christian in the workplace. I shared this list with my class one Sunday as part of a discussion regarding what the Bible says about Christians and their responsibilities at work. The verses are grouped in several different subject areas for reference.

      1. Masters, provide your slaves with what is right and fair, because you know that you also have a Master in heaven.

      1. You must have accurate and honest weights and measures, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.
    2. 1 Chronicles 29:17
      1. I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity. All these things have I given willingly and with honest intent. And now I have seen with joy how willingly your people who are here have given to you.
    3. Proverbs 16:11
      1. Honest scales and balances are from the LORD; all the weights in the bag are of his making.
    4. Proverbs 16:13

  4. Respect
    1. Romans 12:3

    1. Ephesians 4:29
      1. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

Yours in Christ
