Biloxi - 2006
"This poem is about a little trip I took to Biloxi, Mississippi."
The man said "Now take my tip, You really gotta go on this trip" Well, I did and it was a pip Went with some church friends down to Missip.
Boy! If I’d had more moxie I’d stayed away from good ol’ Biloxi. Guess I was thinkin’ like a jerk ‘Cause I didn’t know I’d have to work.
But, ya know, by golly It turned out to be quite jolly. We cleaned up yards, fixed plumbing Lots of odds ‘n’ ends kept things humming. Got a chance too for me to paint Thought I’d be good, but I ain’t.
Lots of beautiful ladies to help with the work And they didn’t mind me being a jerk. Helped me when I had to do dishes Made it seem like it was one of my wishes.
They let me clean a room and paint a wall Made me feel like I was ten feet tall. Now it’s time to head back home And I to thank them with this po’m.
So, take it from me and I don’t jest This time with them has been the best. And I thank our Lord above For them, their care, and especially their love. Now, one more thing I just gotta do Is thank the guys, they were great too!
