"Send Him"

Servant

"This was written long ago. There was a push to get people in the community and get people to church. We could use some of that philosophy today."

Don Husted, Sr.

Here I am Lord, I do declare
I’m ready to do your bidding
Why, I’ll just go anywhere

I’m faithfully in services every Sunday
Wednesday nights you’ll always find me there
So, you want me to go where? Oh, I’m sorry I’m tied up Monday
Maybe next time, anyway you can always send Claire

You can call me Mr. Ready and Willing, yep that’s me
I know that evangelizing is needed every day
But, to be honest, I’m not good with people you see
I get tongue—tied, and hey, there’s Harry, Jeff or Jay

I find the greatest joy workin' for the Lord every day
l'm always reminding others like Joe and Dick and Jim
How hard we need to work, His commands to obey
By the way, Pete’s really good with people . . .send him

Oh ‘tis sad, I really do lament
This guy’s service is mostly lip
His get up and go already went
He, always an excuse, it’s always a pip

But don’t let your service for the King
Be nothing but a phrase
Whatever you do . . . don’t do nothing
Make all your life to Him be praise
Let your light shine bright and never get dim
And when you’re sent to go. . .don’t say "send him".
