Stand Firm

Hunter

"In a battle with Satan, you can’t have too many weapons."

There’s a war going on against God and His saints,
Made more difficult by the rosy picture Satan paints.
He’d like us to think all is wonderful but it’s not what it seems,
So take your stand against the devil and his schemes.

As the children of the living God we are called to our finest hour,
So be strong in the Lord and in God’s mighty power.
We struggle with rulers, authorities, all with Satan at the helm.
We fight against the spiritual forces in the heavenly realm.

So with the readiness of the Gospel your feet securely shod,
Get ready to fight and put on the full armor of God.
‘Tis a wily, sneaky devious enemy you have to face,
So be sure the breastplate of righteousness is securely in place.

Put the belt of truth around you ready to face the devils horde,
Be alert! Stand your ground! Stand firm, stand Hrm in the Lord!
Take up the shield of faith, against Satan’s arrows aflame,
And you can extinguish them all in God’s Holy Name!

The helmet of salvation, Sword of the Spirit, it’s God’s Holy Word.
Stand firm, Stand firm and do not be deterred.
We’re waging a winning battle because by Christ we are led,
So forget what’s behind us, full speed ahead.

Stand firm like the rock strong and steady,
And live up to what we’ve attained already.
Put on the breastplate, the belt and the shield, take up the sword,
And stand firm, stand firm, stand firm in the Lord!
