"Who is Jesus Anyway?"
If you are a growing Christian like myself, you have probably been faced with the same questions that both the lost and the saved ask. Is Jesus real, is he really the Messiah, how can I say Jesus is the ONLY way to heaven—the only way to God, and how can I answer these questions for others? In 1 Peter 3:15, Peter exhorts us to "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have." Clearly we must know and understand our faith, and our savior Jesus Christ, if we are to help others come to know him as we do.
In this series, "Who Is Jesus Anyway?," we are going to look at the evidence that proves that Jesus is the true Messiah, and the ONLY way to be saved. We will also look at what it means to be "saved" and what the Gospel, i.e., the "Good News," is that gives us so much hope in Christ.
In Jesus’ famous prayer for his disciples and his followers who put their faith in him, we see two things that should further assure us of whom we believe. In John 17:5, Jesus says to God, "And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began." Further, in John 17:25, he goes on to pray "Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me."
Jesus was with God before the world began, and came to save all who will believe; many, sadly, will not. But for those of us who accept Christ as our Savior, we need to be certain of what we believe, and we need to be equipped to answer those unbelievers who are uncertain, searching for the Master, and asking the same questions about Jesus that we once did.
I pray this study will not only strengthen your faith, but help equip you to take the Good News to those around you.
